    1. The indicator includes the following gases: carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluocarbons (HFCs) and perfluorocarbons (PFCs). Scope 1 fugitive emissions, waste treatment, and fertilizer consumption are not included.

    Additional information:

There was a reduction in emissions from generation of electricity, heat, and steam due to a reduction in consumption of Natural Gas and Biomass and an increase in the consumption of black liquor, produced as a by-product of the process and considered a renewable fuel.

In the physical-chemical processing, there was an increase in removal due to the process for precipitation of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), an input used in the industrial process. In addition, due to improvements in the inventory process, there was a refinement in the collection of information, which was extrapolated in 2019 based on an average CO2 exported / pulp production in some cases.

There was a slight increase in the transportation of materials, products, waste, employees, and passengers due to the higher consumption of the Brazilian commercial diesel, whose composition contains 11.3% biodiesel.
